Free Basics lets you visit popular websites like Facebook and
Wikipedia, nairaland, naij, BBC,facebook,fanbook, for free. Please keep in mind that Free Basics is not available everywhere at this time. To start using Facebook
and other websites for free through Free Basics, you'll need to
use a SIM card from a participating provider.
How do I get Free Basics?
You can access Free Basics on your mobile phone. To use
Free Basics:
Android: Download the Free Basics app from the Play Store .
Alternatively, if you have the Facebook Android app, you can
open the app, tap and tap Free Basics .
Facebook for Every Phone: Open your Facebook app and tap
.
Mobile web browser: Visit www.freebasics.com or www.0.free basics.com
Note: Free Basics is only available to customers of
participating providers.
Is Free Basics free?
Yes, you can use Free Basics without data charges if you're a
customer of a Free Basics provider.
Please keep in mind that if you go to a website that's not
partnered with Free Basics, standard data charges may apply.
To know whether or not you're using data on a page you're
viewing through Free Basics, look for the Free Data icon at
the top of your screen. If you don't see the icon, you're using
data.
To see which websites are available, open the Free Basics app
and check the free services list.
Keep in mind that if you go to a website that's not partnered
with Free Basics, standard data charges may apply.
How do I add more websites to my list of free services?
You can add more websites to your list of free services at any
time.
To add more websites from your mobile internet browser:
1. Open Free Basics by typing www.freebasics.com into your
Internet browser
2. At the bottom of your screen, click Find More Free Services
3. Select he website you want to add
4. Click Add
To add more websites from your Free Basics app:
1. Open your Free Basics app
2. At the top of your screen, click
3. Click More Services
4. Select the website you want to add
5. Click Add
Can I get Free Basics on my desktop computer?
No, Free Basics is only available on mobile phones.
How do I switch between free data and paid data?
When you use the free version of Facebook from Free Basics,
most photos or videos won't appear. To see them, you'll have
to switch from free data to paid data.
To switch to paid data:
1. Click on any photo or video that isn't loading
2. On the Standard Data Charges page, click Continue
Photos and videos will now appear. To switch back to free
data, go to your Facebook Favorites and select Facebook -
Free Data .
Keep in mind that when you switch to paid data, standard
data charges will apply.
