There are plenty of teams trading at big odds-on to win their respective World Cup groups which lends itself well to accumulator bets if not singles.

However, Group A is not one of those sections with a short-priced favourite and Uruguay are an even money chance with BetVictor to finish top of a pile that also includes Russia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

While Russia are the hosts, the Uruguayans will be confident of progressing smoothly, while the former are 15/8 (William Hill) to win the section and please the home supporters.

Group B could be all about Spain and bet365 have 1/2 that La Roja finish top of the section, with Portugal priced at 9/5 (Paddy Power) and the two teams meet in the opening game.

Iran and Morocco aren’t there to make up the numbers and you can get 13/2 and 7/2 respectively with Ladbrokes that they qualify for the last sixteen.

France are the 3/10 favourites with Ladbrokes to win Group C, with Les Bleus potentially proving too strong for their opponents although Denmark had an eye-catching 5-1 win in Ireland to book their place.

The Danes are powered by Christian Eriksen and William Hill go 6/1 that they win a group that also includes Peru and Australia, while the Scandinavian side are 8/11 with bet365 to qualify.

Argentina look uncertain favourites to win Group D and the 4/6 quote with Ladbrokes suggests that La Albiceleste can be taken on in a section that includes Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria.

The Croatians have some quality players in their ranks and look a more balanced team, with many shrewd punters latching on to the 5/2 (BetVictor) that this proud European nation win the section.

Brazil are super short to win Group E although we really like the look of Serbia to come through and qualify for the last sixteen, with the European side 9/1 (William Hill) to win the section although you can get 5/4 (BetVictor) that the Serbs qualify and they’ll have a big support behind them.

In Group F, it could be Germany all the way, with Mexico looking a decent shout at 11/10 with Hills to qualify considering that some firms go odds-on about El Tri.

Group G is England’s group, with the Three Lions 5/4 with Ladbrokes to claim top spot although it could be that they’re playing second fiddle to a Belgium side who look pretty powerful.

The Red Devils are likely to be power scorers in this section and bet365 offer 5/6 that Roberto Martinez’s side come through on top which looks like a decent bet.

Group H looks an open group and we’re prepared to take a punt on Senegal at 5/1 (bet365) to finish top, with Colombia priced pretty short at 6/4 (Paddy Power) and Poland chalked up at 7/4 (BetVictor).
